Six months ago we packed up and moved from Reno Nevada to a small town outside of Seattle Washington. It was a move we were both excited for, yet nervous about. My husband and I had talked for several years about moving to Seattle. Every time the discussion got serious we changed our minds. The excitement of living in a place with lots of activities, lots of trees and mild weather was always outdone by the rain factor. Well, we finally bit the bullet and moved. We bought a house in the woods that we feel we can live in for a long time. It is 3530 sq ft with 5 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. There are 3 floors with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths on the 2nd floor, 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom in the basement and 1/2 bath on the main floor.
We have always wanted a house that we can fix up without doing anything to major. This is the perfect house for that. It was built in 1999 so it is outdated but livable. It is also on 5 acres so we have a lot of room to play.
Our boys had two requests while looking for a house.
1. It had to have grass- check
2. It had to have a fort of some sort- check
Better then a fort, it has a tree house. It has electricity and a deck. The perfect place to play and have sleepovers. There are also two tire swings in the yard that the boys love to play on.
So far it has been a perfect house for us.
We will update the blog as we make changes to the house. We are currently refinishing the main floor bath. It should be finished in a couple days.
